Renting While Having Pets... (It's Expensive!!)
This blog comes from an awesome guest blogger, Kenny Duford, who is a lender friend of ours! Please enjoy this blog and let us know if you have any questions!
This week, I thought I'd share some interesting takeaways I have after reading an article on the next wave of homeowners.
That next wave is renters who also are pet-owners.
As a long-time (see: life-time) pet owner, I can totally relate to the struggle of having a spot for your pet!
And, to make pet ownership more difficult, it's becoming increasingly expensive to be a renter and have pets. The combination of a large up-front pet deposit and increased monthly rent for each pet (note: crazy weight and breed limits) are becoming common and extremely frustrating for pet owners.
I've heard people paying as much as $200 per MONTH in additional fees! (If you or someone you know has pets and rents, you know this struggle!)
As I've been doing first time homebuyer workshops, I've found more and more people who are pet owners are considering owning a home.
The combination of a back yard and no additional "Fees" of being a pet owner makes homeownership a huge win for pet owners.
Anyway, I wanted to personally invite you (or, maybe someone you know that currently fits this "profile"), let me know! I'd love to help you do a quick (no cost) comparison of what you're currently paying in rent and what you could afford to buy for a home! I genuinely think you'd be shocked.
Contact me if you'd be interested (or, forward it to someone who you think might be!... You might be their new favorite person!). I'll help you do a quick comparison -- it's like a 2 minute email exchange to find out :)
Have a fantastic week! :)
